(Here we are in front of a beautiful flower garden at the Como Zoo. I'm wearing my newest "HOPE" shirt - Patrick worries that I'm making a political statement. Quite the contrary, honey. :) Our journey with infertility has made me a sucker for anything with the word "HOPE" on it. This word is my favorite accessory these days! Without HOPE, we have nothing.) :)

In honor of summer, Patrick and I decided to take a trip up to the Como Park Zoo in St. Paul this weekend. It was a gorgeous day and we loved seeing all of the animals. It was a great way to spend an afternoon - just the two of us - enjoying God's most amazing creatures. Being the animal lovers that the Van Osdel's are, we had a blast! :) Here are some pics. I would highly recommend this as a fun way to spend an afternoon - kids or no kids - it was a great "date spot" for us! Enjoy!

Beautiful Flamingos

Scary looking gorilla.

Gorgeous Butterfly garden.
(Couldn't help but think of some dear friends while we were surrounded by all of those dancing butterflies. You know who you are...).

Baby giraffe - so dang cute!

Funny orangutan. (There was the cutest baby orangutan, too, but he was pretty camera shy. You simply must go check him out if you're in St. Paul anytime soon. What a honey.)

Love your zoo pics! We love the zoo and the funny thing is the best one around here is the zoo at Cameron Park in Waco! Guess we didn't frequent that much in college.
